To better prepare you for a

Sea area. Here is some advice on the local climate, currency, time difference,
and much more.
- Soma Bay
The region is home to many fine hotels and resorts, and appeals to a wide range
of visitors from diverse nationalities. Apart from the attractions of the
beaches and the sea, the surrounding desert can be enjoyed by way of various
safaris and short excursions.
- Climate
The area enjoys sunny, moderate weather all year round.
- Credit Cards
All major credit cards are accepted for payment: Visa, Master Card and American
Express.
- Currency
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). One EGP is divided into 100
piastres.
- Entry Requirements
An entry visa is required. The Visa could be obtained at the airport for some
nationalities. For more information on the type of visa you need to enter
Egypt, please contact the Egyptian Embassy/ Consulate in your country.
- Languages
Although Arabic is the official language, you will find that English, French,
Italian, German and Russian are widely spoken.
- Time Zone
Egypt time is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Egyptian Summertime
(daylight saving time) lasts from May until October.
